Türkiye-Kyrgyzstan Deepen Partnership, Highlighting Technology and Innovation in Trade

Date:

Türkiye and Kyrgyzstan have solidified their intention to enhance their bilateral relationship, focusing on expanded cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, transportation, and regional connectivity. This commitment was the focal point of discussions held during the seventh Türkiye-Kyrgyzstan Joint Strategic Planning Group meeting in Ankara, which was attended by the foreign ministers of both nations. Alongside these commitments, both countries expressed their support for diplomatic solutions to international conflicts.

During the meeting, officials from Türkiye and Kyrgyzstan reviewed the progress made in their bilateral relations and set a course for deeper cooperation in key areas including education, cultural exchanges, and economic development. As part of their ongoing relationship, plans for reciprocal visits by Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan were also discussed, highlighting the importance of high-level engagement in strengthening ties.

Economic collaboration emerged as a top priority, with both governments pledging to back new investment initiatives and implement measures to create an environment conducive to business activities. Additionally, they agreed on enhancing travel, employment, and education opportunities to bolster people-to-people connections between the two countries. Regional connectivity was another major topic, with Kyrgyzstan emphasizing the strategic significance of the Middle Corridor as a transport route. The nation aims to integrate the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway into this corridor, thereby improving access to markets in Europe and the Middle East through Türkiye.

The meeting also covered regional and global security concerns, with both parties reaffirming their commitment to resolving disputes through dialogue, diplomacy, and adherence to international law. Kyrgyzstan applauded Türkiye’s efforts in regional mediation and expressed gratitude for Ankara’s support in its successful bid for a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council for the 2027-2028 term. With this seat, Kyrgyzstan aims to foster international dialogue while advocating for the interests of landlocked developing countries, mountainous nations, and small island states.
