Digital Strategies Propel Türkiye’s New Party Amid Özgür Özel’s Online Controversy

Date:

Under the leadership of Özgür Özel, Türkiye’s New Party (YP) is actively setting up offices nationwide as it strategizes for the 2028 general election. The party is planning to establish branches in 60 provinces and their respective districts in the coming weeks, aiming to have the main headquarters fully operational within a month.

Özel recently found himself at the center of public discussion due to a video that emerged on social media, depicting him performing Islamic ablution before prayer. The footage sparked debate, with some critics alleging that it was an attempt to court conservative voters. However, the party clarified that the video was taken privately prior to the party’s official launch and was released without Özel’s consent or awareness.

The New Party is focused on expanding its national presence and diversifying its voter base as it gears up for upcoming elections. By establishing a robust organizational structure, the party aims to strengthen its position and appeal across different demographics in Türkiye.

As the New Party continues to organize and mobilize support, its efforts are indicative of a strategic push to become a significant player in the political landscape. The opening of numerous branches signals an ambitious approach to building grassroots connections and enhancing their political reach ahead of the 2028 elections.
