Erdoğan Highlights Tech Collaboration Amidst Türkiye-EU Regional Tensions

In a recent phone conversation with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan emphasized the critical strategic importance of Türkiye-European Union relations amid heightened regional tensions. This dialogue, as described by the Turkish Communications Directorate on NSosyal, also delved into significant regional and global developments.

Erdoğan highlighted Türkiye’s ongoing efforts to uphold a cease-fire and promote peace within the region’s ongoing conflict. He stressed the necessity of reopening the Strait of Hormuz promptly to facilitate stability. In his remarks, Erdoğan accused Israel of perpetuating regional conflicts and committing violations of international law, including acts akin to piracy, underscoring the importance of intensifying international pressure on Israel.

Moreover, Erdoğan advocated for Türkiye’s integration into Europe’s security strategies, advocating that such inclusion would be mutually beneficial. He pointed out the need for updating the Turkish-EU Customs Union as part of a broader effort to enhance cooperation across various sectors, thereby fostering economic integration and advancing shared interests between Türkiye and the EU.
