President Donald Trump is intensifying his global trade push, announcing plans to release more letters tied to trade negotiations and tariff enforcement. At least seven countries will receive these letters on Wednesday morning, with further releases expected later in the day.
This latest round follows Tuesday’s move, in which Trump issued letters to 14 countries outlining new tariff hikes ranging between 25% and 40%. The aim is to pressure US trading partners into renegotiating terms more favorable to Washington.
Speaking during a dinner with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump revealed that the US has already secured trade agreements with the United Kingdom and China. He also hinted that a deal with India was in the final stages.
Trump has extended the initial compliance deadline from July 9 to August 1 but stressed this is the last extension. “All money will be due and payable starting August 1, 2025 – No extensions will be granted,” he declared on Truth Social.
