Türkiye has strongly criticized Israel’s recent airstrikes in southern Syria, underscoring that these actions infringe upon Syria’s sovereignty and pose a risk to the stability of the region. According to the Turkish Foreign Ministry, the strikes, which targeted locations in Quneitra and Daraa, are not only a violation of Syria’s territorial integrity but also breach international law and the 1974 Separation of Forces Agreement.
The Turkish government has expressed concern that these military operations could exacerbate the existing humanitarian crisis, endanger civilian lives, and hinder the ongoing efforts to restore stability within Syria. In light of these developments, Turkish officials have urged the international community to intervene, emphasizing the need for countries to collaborate in preventing further attacks that might escalate regional tensions.
Burhanettin Duran, Türkiye’s Communications Director, also voiced criticism of the airstrikes, highlighting their detrimental impact on Syria’s security and the broader efforts aimed at achieving long-term peace. Duran’s remarks reflect Türkiye’s position that the strikes undermine progress toward a sustainable resolution in Syria.
Türkiye remains committed to supporting Syria’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, viewing these elements as fundamental to ensuring regional security. The Turkish stance is clear: maintaining Syria’s territorial cohesion is essential for peace and stability in the Middle East.
